Live remix sound system in session! Brooklyn-based revolutionary dub artist dr. Israel has been producing underground Bass Music for close to 20 years. He boasts releases on Universal, ROIR Records, Wordsound, and MOD Technologies, as well as collaborations, remixes and vocal guest appearances with musical legends such as Bill Laswell, Mad Professor, Rancid, Sublime, Lee Perry, Dub Gabriel, DJ Krush, and many more. Major publications like Rolling Stone, Vibe, LA Times, and Village Voice among others have consistently sung his praises. The good dr is currently working on a new solo EP, Love In A Time Of Violence along with another EP, 2041, from the well-received Dreadtone International project piral’ scheduled for release in the spring of 2014.

more than 16 years of experience and a ten-record discography, Kush Arora has
branded his own signature imprint on forward thinking cultural music in San Francisco
and beyond. All shades of dub, African dance, industrial, dancehall, and Indo-Caribbean
influences merge into his melting pot of madness. The last few years of collaborations
have been alongside Stereotyp, Jahdan Blackkkamoore, and Dreadsquad to name only
a few. He has also done remixes for folks like Elephant Man, Cutty Ranks, Spoeke
Mathambo, MC ZULU, Balkan Beat Box, and Nickodemus. Kush has releases on labels
as diverse as Top Billin, UrbanWorld, to J Dub and Subatomic Sound. Recent productions
include an EP with Baile Funk vocalist Zuzuka Poderosa, a remix for Gappy Ranks
and a kuduro EP with MC Zulu.
DJ Sep is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at Dub Mission. For 22 years, Sep was also on Bay Area radio: first at college radio station KUSF and later at Berkeley's public radio station, KPFA. She's the co-compiler (with producer Shockman) of Babylon Is Ours: The USA in Dub, a collection of all-exclusive American dub tracks (on Select Cuts). In 2009, Mochipet's Daly City Records released her remixes (with Jason Short) of "Get Your Dub Wet" featuring Juakali and Mista Chatman. Sep has won a Goldie Award (Bay Guardian) and been nominated for Best DJ (SF Weekly Music Awards). She has spun at venues in London, New York, Washington DC, Miami, and Los Angeles and has opened for the likes of Sly & Robbie, The Wailers, Culture, Big Youth, Les Nubians, Rachid Taha, Kinky, and The Cinematic Orchestra among many others. Her latest projects include the Biggering Riddim, an EP of original music featuring dr. Israel and Mista Chatman; Reggae Got Dhol featuring refixes of tunes by Gregory Isaacs and Lady G; and the BASSment mix, all available for download on her Soundcloud page.

Bay Guardian readers and now in its 18th year, Dub Mission is one of the longest-running parties in the world, presenting cutting-edge dub, roots reggae and dancehall every Sunday at the Elbo Room.
